The Firotha dwell on the island of Soqwai along with the Draed and the Krythe tribes. The Firotha battle the Draed frequently, but are on good terms and trade with the Krythe.

The Firotha are a very family oriented tribe. Each village dwells in a single huge and well-built multi-level construct that is as tall as the trees. These immense "village halls" are much more than primitive huts. They are typically six stories tall, have thick wooden walls, strong stone foundations and house more than a hundred people each. Within are the sleeping quarters for the entire village, the chieftain, his warriors, his subchieftains, etc. Storage rooms, stables and pantries are all stored within this one great hall. The great hall is built by, and shared by, everyone in the village. So well built and impenetrable are these great houses that the Firotha have bee known to retreat into them and wait out an enemy attack while firing arrows down upon them.

The Firotha are broad shouldered and short. Both sexes average 1.5 meters tall and weigh more than 80 kg. They are also the only tribe whose men grow facial hair. Firotha wear their hair long, often in a single long and thick braid adorned with carved wooden pendants, colorful stones and leather strips. They adorn their beards in similar fashion.

Despite their small size, the Firotha are good fighters. They are strong for their size, wielding heavy wooden weapons and wear armor of thick bark strips. They use short bows that are so taut, warriors of other tribes have difficulty drawing them. The Firotha have few shamans, though, and their shamans are relatively weaker than the shamans of other tribes.

The Firotha excel at woodworking and stonecraft. They carve decorative flourishes and designs into the weapons, armor and the beams of their great halls.

The Firotha are very social with each other. They have many community gatherings, dances, feasts and so forth. However, the Firotha tend to be surly and brusque with outsiders. Although generally not welcoming to foreigners, they will tolerate their presence for short periods of time and may even trade with them. With repeated interactions, the Firotha may warm to outsiders and begin to trust, but this takes time.
